Tip for Installing a New Mustang Hood
If youâre looking to give your Mustang a whole new look, then investing in an aftermarket hood is definitely the way to go. It is one of the most popular modifications and itâs relatively easy to install. So go out and comb through the huge variety of hoods out there and put your novice mechanic skills to the test. If youâre planning on installing your new hood at home, you may need a few pointers. Check below for some helpful suggestions.
The first thing youâll need to do is pop the hood of your Mustang. In most cases, youâll find the hood release beneath the steering wheel along the bottom of the console. Pull the release and youâre ready to get going. Now lift the hood of you car and locate the hood latches. They will be on both sides of the hood close to the windshield. You will need socket wrenches to remove the bolts that keep the latches in place. Once youâve removed the bolts, the hood is ready to come off. You will most likely need to enlist the help of a friend to lift the old hood up and off of your car. Once youâve set the old hood aside, itâs time to install the new one. Again, youâll need a friend to help you lift the new hood up and onto your car. Then you will need to line the hood up with the mounting holes. Then you will need to reinstall the mounting bolts that you unscrewed with the previous hood. Tighten them with a socket wrench and make sure that the hood latches correctly when you close it.
It really is that simple. You donât need to be an expert mechanic to upgrade the look of your Mustang. Just make sure check out quality hoods for Mustang and youâll be looking and driving great!
